We are glad to have them, and I hope it will be like this for a long time!
A simple device-amplifier without any physical regulation of treble, bass, without physical stereo balance, which at first glance arouses amazement, slight resistance, but the surprise is even greater (a positive surprise! )
Everything that seems to be missing physically exists in the control program from the tablet or phone, the advantage is that the program can be repaired, improved-updated, which probably wouldn' t work well with a physical machine. So a WIIM AMP owner will always have an upgraded machine! The user will age, but their WiiM AMP will still be the same, maybe even better with program updates!
The device reaches the first rank in its category=affordable (the most affordable HIFI). Very high-quality HIFI for surprisingly little money (the device is a complete revolution)
I allow myself to compare with devices that I own and use: 1) Bluesoudnd - NODE 3 GEN 2 - does not have an amplifier, costs approx. 12 thousand. 2) Cambridge Audio-CXN-does not have an amplifier, costs approx. 17 thousand. CZK 3) Yamaha Music Cast -Yamaha WAXD-10-does not have an amplifier, it cost about 5 thousand CZK 4) The SONOS-hardware system is a multiple of the price of devices comparable to WIIM
The above comparable devices are mainly and mainly (mainly! )on the software: Bluesound-=BluOS, Cambridge Audio=SreamMagic, Yamaha=Music Cast, WIIM=WiiM Home, the good news is: best for a normal user, easiest to understand, least annoying = doesn' t crash doesn' t freeze for unknown reasons, very extensive, totally intuitive - the writer of this review is " young" 66 years old, maybe already suffering from mild dementia) is WiiM Home! In addition, the device contains an amplifier, it plays perhaps a little less HIFI than my Camridge Audio fan - there is, however, a top DAC (digital-to-analog converter). The Sonos system calibrates itself using the phone, but the calibration and software are worth it. l. So: young students, young marriages, pensioners and everyone who likes HIFI, but has. less money (or just enough! )-buy WiiM AMP!
I use and evaluate the YAMAHA NS-333 speaker (shelf speaker for about 6-7 thousand CZK) and it is quite a big and positive surprise. don' t be afraid of the word BOMB! What is particularly fascinating is the equalizer (software) instead of treble and bass, there is also the mentioned stereo balance. Everything works like a razor = fast, perfect.
It is a small piece, something like an Apple Mac mini, it can be pushed anywhere, but it will do the job of a much larger HIFI AMP or RECIEVER.
It' s kind of like a car without wheels, but it drives like a normal car.
I' m already looking forward to connecting the subwoofer, because it' s a 2.1 stereo system, even though it can " produce" enough bass with the help of an equalizer
I don' t have much yet - but perhaps only one thing: 2 AAA batteries are not added to the \(remote) controller in the package
Also, maybe the instructions are three pages long, but every pensioner with dementia can understand the program, so why not. when it' s brilliantly simple. and at the same time completely functional
Perhaps the only thing missing is the calibration of the setting system according to the microphone, for example SONOS does it using the phone (! ). Of course, it was already too perfect and you wouldn' t win small children, fans and demented pensioners and spend many happy moments with the settings (the software equalizer is really great)
Conclusion: more audio inputs are missing (there is only 1 word on the device ONE AUDIO CINCH INPUT = stereo cinch. but it can be successfully solved with a multiplier and cinch audio port switch/can be bought on ebay neo on Conrad CZ for a price of around 500-700 CZK/. So I use a port multiplier bought on ebay from China and size 6x2x4 cm. works better than from f. CONRAD CZ, so the Germans are behind the Chinese.

when turning off Wiim AMP, the sound from the TV via HDMI still goes to the amplifier and the TV is "silent"
