I bought it basically as a work laptop for programming, photo and video editing and occasional gaming and streaming games from a powerful desktop to a TV, because gaming laptops combine high graphics and cpu performance. I'd be very happy if it weren't for the weird keyboard, which I can't get used to and am considering going back to some Lenovo because of. However, for someone who doesn't mind a keyboard, this is the perfect machine with an RTX 4080/4090 and a large display
performance - it's a cannon
design, backlighting (except for the font on the keyboard)
cooling - the fans can hum nicely under load, but it's not that bad
the size and weight seems to me to be ok for an 18" display, it's more mobile than Lenovo's once developer work laptops that weighed two tons. It's easy to casually stuff into a backpack and take to work
Asus Armoury Crate software (bloatware) - everything takes an incredibly long time, you don't even know you have a powerful laptop when you run this garbage
after decades of using IBM/Lenovo keyboards, I can't get used to this one - the spacing between the keys is bigger (which is probably due to the 18" size), I'm still struggling with typos, somehow I can't get it right
font on the keyboard - I wonder when manufacturers will stop treating customers like babies who need fancy fonts on the keyboard
