I was looking for a replacement for an old Emos alarm clock that was radio controlled and had 2 wake-up times. I really liked this alarm clock because it is also radio controlled and even has 4 wake-up times (I personally use 3 times). Very clear and intuitive display. The biggest downside was the backlight being too intense when pressing Snooze/Light. (Too intense night backlight mode for me). The backlighting problem was solved by connecting 2 1N4001 diodes in series to the + power supply of the display backlight (just unscrew the rear 4 screws, uncover and power the 2 1N4001 diodes to a separate branch of the backlight power supply - for Snooze/Light the power supply is pulled down from 2.77V to 2.07V, for night mode to 1.47V). Now the alarm clock has a much nicer softer backlight for me (like the old Emos), and the night mode is also not as shrill when the alarm clock is held to one's head. I originally considered returning it just because of the intensity of the backlight, but after the adjustment I have nothing to complain about and the adjustment took a few minutes - so I can only recommend the alarm clock after adjustment (before adjustment, some may mind the sharp intensity of the backlight).
