Width
Slackline has two basic widths - 25 mm and 50 mm. To select the right one, we need to be clear about what we want to do on the line. Walking on both types of the line widths is equally challenging. Wider lines (50 mm) are suitable for beginners and also for jumping tricks, because of the greater contact with the surface and impact. Narower lines (25 mm) are used mainly for walking - they are more stable and lighter, which is important for the longer lines.
Length
Basic slackline sets are available in lengths of 15, 20, 25 or 30 m. Each one can stretch over a distance of 1 m to a maximum length indicated by the manufacturer. It is therefore necessary to consider where you will be walking on the slackline. If you know you have two trees in the garden 10 m apart, all you need is a 15 m long set. However, it is important to keep in mind that the longer the line, the harder it is to walk on it. Of course, that nothing prevents you from buying a longer slackline and extend it on a shorter section. Over time as you improve, you can stretch it longer.
Flexibility
A very important parameter in the selection of the slackline is the flexibility and knit of the line. Static lines are stable after stepping on it, the line will keep its static properties. Dynamic ones will be more flexible after stepping on them and can "throw" you. Thanks to these properties, they are suitable for freestyle, tricks, jumps and other. Walking on both types is substantially the same, however the flexible line offers more options. Static line can boast itself with increased endurance, because it is stronger.
