The EIZO CS230 is part of ColorEdge's range of professional photo monitors. It offers a precision "tuned" screen with a colour range very close to the IEC61966-2.1 sRGB standard, offering high long-term colour reproduction stability thanks to integrated temperature sensors and an integrated autocorrection sensor that automatically maintains monitor status since its last calibration.
ColorEdge CS/CX models are equipped with an integrated sensor for automatic correction of image parameters set at the last calibration of the monitor (brightness, white point, image gradation). With the EIZO ColorNavigator Elements (free) calibration program or its upgraded ColorNavigator 6, this sensor can be activated and programmed to regularly measure and possibly correct the image parameters set at the last calibration of the monitor.
Two levels of calibration: Level "Hobby"
To calibrate the CS/CX series monitors and automatically adjust the colour profile of the monitor operating system or colour management for further use of photo viewer programs, beginners can use the simple calibration software EIZO ColorNavigator Elements, which is
free of charge, and
does not require additional external calibration probes.Calibration level "Professional"
For professional use of the CS230 monitor and its calibration using external calibration probes, the professional calibration software EIZO ColorNavigator 6 is designed, which can be activated for a surcharge. The professional version of the calibration software allows you to
create any number of calibration profiles and easily edit and switch them with just a click.
EIZO-ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit)
All models of EIZO ColorEdge (CS/ CX and CG) are equipped with special
EIZO image processors, the long-term and careful development of which is the "hidden" secret of precise colour/black and white reproduction of the resulting image that is able to distinguish very close colour shades.
Special Mathematical Algorithms resolves EIZEM developed high-precision processors (16-bit LUT tables for image data correction) to transfer the colour image from its input section (3x8-bit or 3x10-bit RGB video signal) to output on its own screen LCD-panel).
Homogeneous image thanks to automatic correction of luminance and color variations
Brightness and chromaticity deviations of individual pixels cause so-called "inhomogeneity" of the image, which also varies according to the ambient temperature and the brightness and white point of the monitor. As a result, there are different colour rendering of the images displayed on different parts of the image. This EISEM is a patented, electronically corrected luminance and colour bias technique for individual pixels optimised for the brightness and white point of the monitor and for which EIZO uses the DUE = Digital Uniformity Equalizer technology.Individual calibration of each ColorEdge monitor
Each single piece of the ColorEdge (CS / CX and CG) model series is
individually calibrated using accurate calibration probes before leaving the EIZO production line.
This guarantees minimum manufacturing deviations between the individual pieces produced and therefore easy to use so-called "generic" (= factory-averaged)
colour profiles of individual models.
10-bit DP (DisplayPort)
The CS/CX and CG models are automatically equipped with a modern DP Video Display (DisplayPort), which is also equipped with additional supporting input electronics for processing both 8-bit and 10-bit video inputs from modern graphics cards. The monitor is thus
able to display up to 1 billion colour shades at a time. Colour shades and transitions between very close colour shades can be viewed much more gently and more accurately than ever before!
Automatic input switching including shared peripherals
Seamlessly connect modern computers with 10-bit DP (DisplayPort), 8-bit DVI-D inputs, and the newer HDMI, which is capable of processing not only encoded RGB but also YCbCr data up to 1920x1080 resolution!
The monitor is also equipped with two USB streams that allow
continuous switching of up to two video inputs, including sharing of two USB peripherals (eg keyboard and mouse).
Switching the corresponding video input will automatically assign the USB keyboard and mouse to the computer connected to the currently active video input. For example, the keyboard and mouse can be
shared with two PCs without switching them.
Excellent image response and sharpness
Users who would like to use this model for video capture will also be surprised by the
very fast response - 10 ms (GG), along with manual image sharpening, which cuts the boundaries of the "slow" IPS-monitors.
Excellent ergonomics - a new flexible stand
With the new stand, it is possible to
easily adjust the 23" panel at any time and for each user. The stand supports
height adjustment between 20-174mm (up to 154mm),
tilting up to 30°, and even rotation of the panel by 90° - 344° turning the panel to the "portrait" position (pivot function) to conveniently view "long" web pages. A very
thin frame, 17mm, is also very sympathetic for the aesthetic shifting of multiple monitors side by side (two-screen mode).
Professional photo shield!
The CS230 also features a
professional photo shield that prevents unwanted side-effects of ambient light on the monitor's image.
