This cable is designed to connect a SAS controller with four Serial SAS devices. It is designed for use with ADAPTEC controllers, specifically 2405/ 51245/ 51645/ 52445/ 5xx5/ 31x05/ 3xx5. The cable is 0.5 meters long.

SAS is an upgraded version of the SCSI generation that improves the storage system performance and improves its availability. It also extends the functionality of parallel SCSI hard drives and one of the main advantages of this technology is the integration of SAS 3.5'' Serial ATA drives into one device. This option offers exceptional flexibility and scalability. Full-duplex architecture ensures that the storage device delivers data to the host system at the same time as the host system sends additional commands to the storage device. The dual-port architecture allows easy fail-over connection. Both the host systems and the storage are connected in two ways and data is still available, even if one of the components fails. Additional benefits include data integrity, reliability and the ability to connect up to 16,256 disks to one domain. Discs with this interface will be useful for database and high-performance applications, high-availability data, as well as data archiving or backup.
