Expansion battery for laptops

Do you need to be independent of the power source for longer than the standard battery allows?

AVACOM offers many expansion battery models for various laptops. The battery contains a higher number of cells than the original batteries, and because of that it is also physically larger - either it extends behind the laptop, or it lifts the rear of the laptop, creating a slight, ergonomically more convenient keyboard pitch.

How to keep the battery in good condition
 

How to keep your battery in good condition

The battery is partially charged at the factory, yet its capacity and performance are still below 100%. Therefore, for optimal battery formatting, it is recommended to go through a full charge and full discharge cycle at least 3 times at the beginning. Battery capacity is reduced by permanent connection to the power supply, so we recommend that you disconnect it from time to time. If the battery is not in use, store it in a dry place, and check and charge it after about six months.

What causes damage to the battery

One of the most common causes of battery degradation is when you discharge it completely and leave it unused for a long time. Do not expose the battery to temperatures above 60°C, and if the battery is exposed to temperatures below 5°C, charge it only after reaching room temperature. Only use the battery in the devices for which it is intended. Also be careful that the battery is not subjected to a short circuit or higher discharge currents. Protect your battery from mechanical damage, chemical agents, and moisture.
