Expansion batteries for laptops
Do you need to be independent of the power point for longer than what standard battery packs offer?
AVACOM offers expansion batteries with more cells than standard batteries. The expansion battery is larger, and either projects from the back of the laptop or it elevates its rear part, creating an ergonomic angle of the keyboard.
Batteries made of high-quality components
These batteries contain sophisticated electronics that provides twice as much safety, controls the charging of individual cells and also prevents them from over-discharge and overcharging. Due to the higher number of battery cells, the battery life of the laptop improves significantly, therefore you do not have to carry a charger even when attending long business meetings.
How to keep the battery in good condition
The battery is partially charged at the factory, yet its capacity and performance are below 100%. Therefore, for optimal formatting of the battery, it is recommended to repeat the charge and discharge cycle at least 3 times. Being constantly plugged in also reduces the capacity of the battery, so we recommend occasional unplugging. If you do not use the battery, store it charged and in a dry environment. Check it again after six months and recharge it.
What causes damage to the batteries
One of the most common causes of dead batteries is when you store it completely discharged and do not use for a long time. Do not expose the battery to temperatures above 60 °C. If the battery is exposed to temperatures below 5 °C, charge it only at room temperature. Only use the battery in the compatible devices, do not expose the battery to a short circuit or high discharge currents. Protect it from mechanical damage, chemicals and moisture.
