The HOYA Pro 1D DMC polarising filter delivers several valuable benefits during taking pictures and therefore it should be a permanent part of the equipment of both amateur and professional photographers.

Polarising filters can be used in various situations, but they are mostly used to suppress unwanted reflections, increase colour saturation, and enhance contrast. The polarising filter, after application to a lens, removes the polarised light reflected from non-metallic surfaces. They are often used to suppress reflections on glass or water surfaces, wood, stones etc. The polarising filter can also be used to darken an image and affect the contrast of the blue colour (typically of the sky). However, the filter is neutral and does not affect the colour balance of the image.

In this case, the filter efficiency is enhanced by the use of the multi-layer DMC coatings. This reduces overexposing or ghosting of the image.
