He is the main representative of a new generation of Chinese science fiction authors. Nine times he received the most prestigious Chinese genre prize Galaxy, once the title of Grand Master of Chinese-language science fiction, and as the first Asian ever to win the Hugo Award in the best novel category. His works belong to the genre of hard science fiction, he gained fame mainly due to the strong atmosphere and brilliant imagination.
In his novels, Liou Tskin successfully combines abstract thoughts with harsh reality and attempts to uncover the essence and aesthetics of science throughout his work.
