  The brush head of the Oral-B Professional Care 500 is inspired by the rounded shape of professional dental cleaning tools. The head oscillates, rotates and pulsates in order to break up and remove dental plaque and promote better gum health than an ordinary manual toothbrush. The brush head surrounds each tooth for a thorough and amazing cleaning as it cleans them one by one.

• When to replace the brush head
  Indicator fibres fade to signal when you need to replace the brush head in order to be effective (approximately every 3 months).

• 
  The bristles of the Precision Clean brush head surround each tooth for individual cleaning, resulting in cleaner teeth and healthier gums than you could achieve by using a regular toothbrush.

How does Oral-B differ from regular manual toothbrushes?

The Oral-B Professional Care 500 toothbrush has been designed to resemble professional tooth brushing instruments to ensure ultimate cleanliness of each tooth and to remove up to 100% more dental plaque than a regular toothbrush. With so many different types and features, it's easy to find a model that suits your needs best. According to an independent study in 2005 that compared electric and manual toothbrushes, it was found that "toothbrushes working with an oscillatory rotary motion removed more dental plaque in the short and long term and helped prevent gum inflammation more effectively than manual toothbrushes." The study was corroborated in 2011 when Cochrane Collaboration announced results consistent with earlier findings.* Oral-B first introduced this oscillating-rotating technology in 1991, and has since been in a position to offer premium electric toothbrushes. Are all the brush heads compatible?

You can use the following brush heads with the Oral-B Professional Care 500: Floss Action, White, Precision Clean, Sensitive Clean, TriZone, Power Tip and Ortho.

How long can the charged Professional Care 500 last?

The fully charged Oral-B Professional Care 500 toothbrush will last up to 5 days in normal use. In order to keep the battery functioning ideally, do not charge it between brushes and allow it to discharge completely. For best results, repeat this process at least every six months.
