This practical compact converter is suitable for 2.5" and 3.5" Serial ATA hard drives. It allows you to easily connect said hard drives via the modern USB 3.0 interface with all the benefits this interface brings. This means that the baud rate of the drive will not be drastically reduced as it used to be with the older USB 2.0 interface. The converter is very easy to use and will enable you to use hard drives just as easily as a CD or DVD.
Detail of the connectors
The new USB 3.0 interface, named SuperSpeed ??USB, features a higher peak transmission speed of 5Gbps, which is ten times faster than the older USB 2.0. It also features energy-saving modes and new types of data transmission. Even though it uses a different type of cable, the shape of the connector has not changed and therefore it is backwards compatible with older USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Everything works just as you would expect and devices can be connected and removed without rebooting the system (HotSwap).
