SparkFun Block for Intel Edison - Arduino

The SparkFun Block is an expansion for the Edison electronic building kit by world's leading desktop processor manufacturer, Intel. It is an ultra-small computer platform for both fun technological experiments and serious engineering. The Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth interface, 1GB RAM, 4GB SSD, all built on a 3.5 x 2.5cm unit.

Edison is the next level after Intel Arduino. So once you've learnt how to design electronic circuits with Arduino and its performance limits start to hinder you, it's time for Intel Edison.

The SparkFun Block allows you to interconnect the Edison motherboard with selected Intel Arduino modules. The board is equipped with the same 8-bit ATmega328P microcontroller that can be found in Arduino Uno, Pro and Pro Mini. Edison connects to Arduino with an optional UART that allows both devices to communicate via the serial interface.

The GPIO pins come in the classic Pro Mini format. By changing wires, you can control LED lights, motors and sensors.
