Garmin introduces this top-class sports watch, bearing the Forerunner 235 Optic, the successor of the popular Garmin Forerunner 230. In contrast to its predecessor, it differs in one basic area, such that it does not need any chest strap to sense heartbeat. It has an integrated optical sensor that measures the pulse while being worn on the wrist. Due to this, you will no longer be burdened with unnecessary load restrictions. All selected information is displayed on a large and clear LCD display.
It also boasts a solid Li-Ion battery life that can provide power to the watch for up to 11 hours with the GPS turned on and even up to 5 weeks in watch mode. In addition, this model is also equipped with multisport profiles - cycling, running and other sports.
This watch can be used as a sports watch but also as a smartwatch, where it can be easily paired with Bluetooth with your Android or iOS smartphone. The watch can then display information about incoming/missed calls, SMS, emails, and other notifications. You'll even be able to conveniently send measured data directly to the training server or closely monitor live athletes on the track using Live Tracking.
Of course, there is a GPS chip or support for the reception of the Russian GLONASS satellite system. You do not have to buy any external receivers anymore. The GPS signal is very accurate and connects within seconds - before you finish your warm up, your watch will be ready for long period of use. These watches are specially made for runners but can also be used by cyclists, in-line skaters, skiers and other active life enthusiasts.
The Forerunner 235 displays, among other things, the current or average tempo, for example after every kilometre (optional) your watch will beep and display the time on this section. It also features advanced training features such as interval training, including their planning and sound and vibration alerts. Intervals are an interesting variation of your workout, where you can choose from the presets or set up your own and then upload to your watch. They will then instruct you when to accelerate, slow down, and how long to run at that intensity level.
With Garmin Connect Mobile, you will be able to add Connect IQ functionality to your watch not just from Garmin but also from other providers. You can easily customise your device by adjusting the appearance of the display or by using different data fields, widgets, and applications.
