Quantum dot is an image technology characteristic for its remarkably high colour accuracy. It uses myriads of light crystals, only 2 to 10 nm in size, which display a specific colour depending on its size. Crystals are photoactive, which means they both absorb and emit light. A 10-bit panel can therefore produce more colours without distortion and with higher brightness. Quantum dot technology can be found in high-end TVs by Samsung, LG, and others.
