The processor offers 10 cores and is part of the new, modern X series. It has been made using a 14nm manufacturing process with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Each core runs at a basic frequency of 3.3GHz with the option of Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 4.3GHz. Just like with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated directly into the chip. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller which can now operate at a frequency of up to 2666MHz. Furthermore, the processor has a cache of 13.75MB.

Turbo Boost Max 3.0

Because its focus is primarily on desktop processors, Intel has developed an advanced technology that can help you get the most out of every processor. Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is able to test each core individually and select the most suitable. At the upper power limit, the difference may be as high as 15% and it would be a shame not to make the most of this. The selected core will then run at the maximum frequency at all times, and the system will use it preferentially.
