It is necessary to be really careful when handling the Arduino, I have already dropped a wire from the non-soldering contact field and shorted the Arduino (fortunately it just turned off).

Ordinary voltage regulator, DC/DC converter would be more suitable for it - when connecting ethernet module and 12V external power supply it gets very hot
