big disappointment with the JBL product, my expectations even given the hefty price were completely different.
I only have comparisons with the built-in speakers of our 12-year-old Panasonic TV, which doesn't sound as loud, but is light years ahead of this JBL in reproduction fidelity.
The soundbar can pull out the highs, so you can hear the dialogue in the movies and it can rumble (compared to the TV itself, of course), plus it's adjustable in intensity, so action scenes have gusto. Unfortunately, however, the mids are completely missing, so any music is an ordeal and perhaps the phone plays better (not as loud, of course).
Actually, apart from movies, the soundbar is unusable, as the news announcers sound like a well.
The soundbar suffers from brutal post-processing, creating a wannabe surround sound. Indeed, the room is full of sound, even behind a partial partition. but unfortunately that makes it sound rather unnatural. (oddly enough, it sounds best behind that rung). switching off postprocessing is possible, but it has to be repeated after every switching on and it is even more cumbersome - holding one button on the DO, then pressing another. Oh, my God, why?
Otherwise - it's easy to get it working by connecting cables (HDMI + power) even for a complete layman, but that's the case with others too.
For me, dissatisfaction, I returned.

apps are absolutely useless except for updating and possibly playing music directly from SB
equalizer only in the app - changing settings bland to nonexistent
Surround effect is always activated after start-up, turning it off is a double-tap on the remote control
