I haven't figured out how to do it either, but this is really, really awkward. I had a previous simpler Philips and bought this as a replacement. I made a mistake and had to go back to the original one for practical reasons. This one, although older, cuts much faster. If you have a little longer hair or beard (I get a haircut about once a week), this new Philips is pretty much useless and you'll be mad if it doesn't take all your hair on the third pass of the same spot. Well, I'll have to replace it with something maybe less pretty, but functional.

After a few years of switching between clippers and trimmers, I tried this one and despite some minor issues, it is the best I have ever had. Especially for the face, it really is an all-in-one, no more combining a trimmer and a razor. Everything goes nicely in one stroke and without irritation.
