I tried it based on the reviews, but it absolutely cannot be compared to the Mefisto cleaner. This is so for the oven after the first bake and repeat. Mephisto takes the blackest blackness off the fireplace glass like nothing.

It cleans really nicely - I use it to clean the glass by the fireplace
You must not get it on your skin - it is extremely "greasy" and you can't wash it off your hands. Probably better to use gloves.
