It has its own memory for measurements. Even without a HUB connection, the cloud can be used locally with just the phone.

I've had it stuck on the outside of my window for about 14 days. I used the included double sided adhesive square and everything sticks perfectly. There was already heavy rain and wind and everything ok. It measures well and accurately.
