The sensor has small dimensions and nice workmanship. It comes with a few extra bits and bobs that you can use to attach it to different surfaces or hang it somewhere. It works on a button battery, I can't judge the battery life yet. It needs a hub from the same manufacturer to function. Everything is set via an app on your mobile phone. The procedure is intuitive and in my case almost completely trouble-free (I had to reset the sensor, but then everything was fine on the second try). The biggest disadvantage I see is that the manufacturer only handles everything with Tapo products via the mobile app, it would definitely require at least a simple interface for the computer.

I was surprised how this sensor is the least well thought out compared to other devices in the Tapo series. For example, the magnet is not part of the back body as with the display sensor, but is packaged as an accessory to stick on the back (but in some cases this can be an advantage). Also, the update is handled in a special way with this sensor, where the update only takes effect after 8 hours of installation or the battery must be removed from the sensor for three seconds.
