C1 Label

The C1 label is an identification mark for drones that fall into a specific class defined by European Union legislation. This class includes drones with a maximum take-off mass below 900 grams and a structurally limited speed of up to 19 m/s. The drone must be equipped with a Remote ID (Remote Identification) system, which transmits flight data in real time, such as the drone's position and the operator's registration number. The equipment also includes a geo-awareness system, which warns the pilot about restricted flight zones, for example, near airports. The operator of such a drone must be registered, and the pilot must complete online training and pass an online theoretical examination. A C1 class drone can be flown in the so-called “open” A1 operating category, which, under certain conditions, allows flying over uninvolved persons, but not over crowds of people.
