CH waxes, sometimes also referred to as hydrocarbon waxes, are a basic type of ski wax that does not contain added fluorine. These waxes are made primarily from paraffin components and provide a basic level of protection and slip resistance for skis or snowboards. CH waxes are suitable for a wide range of temperature conditions and are often used for recreational skiing due to their versatility and affordability. In addition, they serve as an excellent base layer under more specialty waxes such as LF (Low Fluorocarbon) or HF (High Fluorocarbon) waxes, where they act as a base for improved adhesion and performance of these more advanced waxes.
