Lock depth refers to the total length of the lock from the front of the lock (visible at the edge of the door) to the back of the mechanism. This measurement is important for determining whether the lock will fit into the door and for the proper operation of the lock mechanism. The depth of the lock must be compatible with the thickness of the door and the internal mounting space.
