High Protection (30-50 SPF)

High protection refers to sunscreen products with a sun protection factor, known as SPF, ranging from 30 to 50. SPF, or Sun Protection Factor, indicates how much longer you can stay in the sun before your skin burns, compared to being without protection. For example, a product with SPF 30 theoretically allows 30 times longer sun exposure without skin redness. This level of protection is suitable for individuals with fair and sensitive skin, for children, or during the first days of intense sun exposure, such as by the sea or in the mountains. Specifically, SPF 30 filters approximately 97% of UVB radiation, which is the main cause of sunburn, while SPF 50 blocks roughly 98%. No product provides one hundred percent protection. Quality products should offer broad-spectrum protection, meaning they protect not only against UVB but also against UVA radiation, which contributes to skin aging.
