LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) is a type of projection technology that combines the advantages of DLP (Digital Light Processing) and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) technologies. In an LCoS projector, liquid crystals are used on a chip of reflective material, usually silicon. Light is modulated by reflecting back from the chip through the liquid crystal layer, allowing LCoS projectors to produce high contrast, bright colour and high resolution images.
