Polycrystalline solar panels are made of several fragments of silicon crystals, giving them a blue to blue-green colour and a grainy appearance. These panels are generally cheaper than the monocrystalline versions, but offer slightly lower energy efficiency. They are suitable for installations where space is at a premium and where efficiency is not a top priority.
