Wideband car speakers are designed to play the widest possible part of the sound spectrum from a single body - bass, midrange and treble. Unlike component systems where each speaker is specialised to a specific frequency band, a wideband speaker tries to cover everything at once. The most common type is the so-called "coaxial" speaker, in which a smaller tweeter is integrated into the centre of a larger mid-bass driver. This all-in-one design makes installation very simple and often serves as a direct replacement for the original factory speakers. They do not require the installation of separate tweeters or the wiring of an external frequency switch, which is the component that splits the audio signal for each driver. They are a way to improve the sound quality of your car without the need for complicated interior modifications.
