WMA (Windows Media Audio) is a series of audio codecs and their corresponding audio codec formats developed and marketed by Microsoft. It is part of Windows Media, Microsoft's suite of services and codecs. WMA is generally characterized by good audio compression and is commonly used for streaming applications and Internet radio.
