Camera sensors (Chips) record image information and send it to the processor. Camera-sensor technology is divided into two types: CMOS and CCD.

CMOS sensors are able to transmit data from each point separately, while CCD sensors do this line by line. CMOS sensors are sometimes abbreviated as APS (Active-Pixel Sensor).
