Jonathan Wheeler opustil vo februári tohto roku svoje zamestnanie vo firme Goldman Sachs, aby sa venoval ambicióznemu charitatívnemu projektu. Wheeler totiž chce vybudovať aplikáciu, ktorá by mala pomôcť občanom Venezuely, krajine zúboženej dlhoročnou komunistickou vládou a hyperinfláciou. Aplikácia by mala umožniť prijať bitcoinový airdrop, tj. širokoplošnú distribúciu bitcoinu. Za týmto účelom založil Wheeler neziskovú nadáciu, ktorá prijíma dary, za ktoré bude následne zakúpený bitcoin.
