Ratings for Instinct 2 Graphite. I wanted Instincty and finally chose this version. I would have stayed with the Instinct 1 version, they were robust and I liked the pale blue, unfortunately the only parameter that made the decision was the inability to switch the minute hand display to full digit. With the luxurious Descent G1, I couldn't see proper time through the sapphire crystal and was put off by the huge paw for recharging. With the Instinct 2 Solar, you basically can't see the display through the solar layer, and with the Instinct 2 Dézl, I was annoyed by the two golden lettering on the display (Garmin on top, Dézl on the bottom) that glowed like lanterns, but you couldn't see the time. In addition, it turned out that neither the Solar nor the Dézl version of Garmin Pay worked 100% and some terminals did not accept payment even though everything seemed to. So the obvious choice is this -- Instinct 2 Graphite without the solarium and wallet. The data on the display is easy to see and the watch provides many useful functions, it also has a long strap, so it can handle my 21.5 cm wrist circumference with a margin. They actually have only one drawback, they only vibrate twice when the phone rings, this should be adjustable and it's not, or I don't know.
Sitting on his hand
Finally a long belt
Super readable display
Supernumerary functions
Long battery life
It doesn't have a solarium, that's a plus
Small display-to-body size ratio
Unnecessarily highlighted button labels on the perimeter of the display (distracting), Instinct 1 had it only on the body and it was better
Compared to Instinct 1, much more feminine in shape and appearance
Not available in blue

Ratings for Instinct 2 dezl
All the benefits I described for the Instinct 2 graphite version plus the Garmin wallet
Absolutely meaningless two golden inscriptions on the display (Garmin and Dézl), which interfere with reading the information on the display

Super look
Nothing unnecessary, just the features that interest me for sports
Displays can be changed and customized
Battery life
Statistics and reports in the app
Garmin in general can be used super at races to upload maps etc.
In combination with Strava, it' s an absolutely great partner for training
They are light, you don' t know you have them on your hands
If they were a little bigger, like Fenix, because I' m a hulk, they' d look better, but they' re still big enough and OK

Long battery life with continuous pulse sensing (but without constant sensing of blood oxygenation and position) - more than 20 days.
Large number of functions
The sensors are said to be the same as in significantly more expensive models (Fenix), so ideal for fitness purposes if you don' t need to pamper yourself.
High accuracy of position recording. Tested only after enabling Galileo satellites. It registers a nice zigzag 2 meters next to it and it can then be seen nicely on the map in the mobile phone.
An educational and motivational Garmin Connect application that explains a lot of things, or directs the user to further interest in the “science“ of sports activities. This is way better than just a phone and some running app.
Good options for integrating other sensors.
Integration with the Health application on iOS, although Garmin Connect can also do a lot.
After the initial setup, I am convinced that getting used to this watch will not be a problem for me, and then the positives clearly prevail.
The settings could be smarter and the default values could be set according to the country the user lives in. By default it' s too American. I would expect the watch to be able to immediately use the Galileo satellites (accuracy: under a meter), but it needs to be set manually. The default lap length for the first run was miles and not kilometers, even though I changed the measurement units to metric.
It cannot combine all GNSS (GPS+Glonass+Galileo) at once. This would eliminate the need to readjust anything.
The first firmware update of the watch via mobile Gamin Connect did not work or it was excruciatingly slow and I didn' t finish it. It worked relatively “quickly“ via the Garmin Express application for Windows, i. e. j. via USB cable. But for that you need a PC with Windows and the willingness to install it there.
It does not have NFC (Garmin Pay) unlike the Instinct2 Solar. It would be less confusing from Garmin if it renamed “Instinct 2 Solar“ to “Instinct 2 Solar with NFC“ and probably more people would opt for the slightly more expensive option, even if solar charging is not that important to them. to be in the sun for 3 hours a day for it to make sense, so I deleted the Solar version from the selection, but I didn' t realize at first glance that this watch is different from the Solar ones, even the absence of NFC.
Catching the signal from the satellite is fast (under 5 seconds) only if the watch is “exactly“ synchronized beforehand via the Garmin Connect application with the mobile phone. According to the instructions somewhere on page 96, the watch will then download the positions of the satellites so that they can quickly catch their signal. However, the watch remembers the positions of the satellites for a short time. I didn' t test it exactly, but after 4 hours from the last synchronization, catching signals from the satellite already takes tens of seconds. It' s strange that the watch can' t remember the satellite flight plan for at least the next 24 hours, so that you don' t have to wait for a signal when you go for a run and logically don' t have your phone with you.
Spartan design and smaller display.
In sunlight the excellent contrast of the display drops off quickly especially at a bad angle in the gloom, so I need to crank my hand in a bit more.
The accuracy of the heart rate sensing by the optical sensor is a bit questionable. The Omron pressure gauge measured 76 while the watch measured 83 beats per minute. If you want more precision at least in running, you probably have to invest in a chest belt.
