It's been working fine for about two weeks. Then the middle metal prism in the middle starts to rotate because it's seated in a plastic sleeve, which of course gets soft very quickly (yes, the thing that transmits the force needed to crush the salt is plastic, I'm not kidding). Then it's just decoration. I don't understand how anyone could think that this technical solution would survive more than a few uses. In retrospect, I'm surprised it lasted those two weeks at all, considering that the whole mechanism actually depends on a few millimeters of plastic.
