If the price was on sale it was a bargain, otherwise the subscription got more expensive.

Absolutely illegible / non-transparent policy of transferring "license management" from Microsoft to Alza. The license validity is not shown on Microsoft's website and refers to Alza. Alza shows the expiry date as one year from purchase, not from activation/renewal, so one is either misled (about the period between purchase and activation/renewal) or (intentionally or unintentionally) misled about the expiry date of the license.
The license incomprehensibly activated at the time of purchase without me viewing the code and transferring it to the Microsoft site.
At the moment of "activation" by displaying the code and transferring it to Microsoft's website, I learn that the license I purchased has been running for 3 months in parallel with the valid license from the previous renewal.

License administration has been transferred from MS account to Alza, in this state it is not possible to extend with any codes from elsewhere/promo
When I terminate my current subscription I will use the standard renewal with the correct subscription in my MS account

Next year I'd rather buy a license that will extend my current subscription. I don't like this solution of managing the license by Alsa.
Completely stupid license management system by way of Alza
If there is a problem with the product, Microsoft will refer you to Alza
I'll hope that the license time I had left before activating the product from Alza (4 months) will be reloaded after this one ends and I haven't lost it
