I've finally got it and I must say, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is the best phone I've ever had. At first, I was a little worried about its width, especially after switching from the Flip 7 which I was using before. But in the end, it turned out that this is exactly what I was missing with the Flip. In contrast, I found the previous Folds to be unnecessarily tall. For me, the Fold8 finally has the ideal dimensions. The biggest advantage is, of course, the large inner display. When I just need to quickly reply to a message or find something on the internet, I use the front display. But as soon as I want to watch a video, read articles, or work with multiple apps at once, I simply open the phone and the difference is truly enormous. Multitasking works brilliantly and is one of the things that makes a folding phone actually make sense. I was also pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The phone is thinner and lighter than I expected, so it's comfortable to carry even in a pocket. The hinge feels solid and the opening action is nice and smooth. The crease on the display is still a bit visible, but in normal use, I completely stopped noticing it. The performance is faultless. Everything is fast, apps launch instantly, and I haven't encountered any lagging, even when playing games or using multiple apps at once. Plus, the One UI interface is well-adapted for folding phones, so everything works exactly as it should. It's just that some apps aren't fully optimised yet. The camera takes very nice photos. During the day, the photos are sharp with lovely colours, and the phone holds its own in the evening too. If someone is looking for the absolute best camera phone on the market, they might go for the Ultra series, but for everyday photography, the quality is more than sufficient. The battery easily lasted me a full day with normal use. The charging could be a bit faster, but it's not something that limits me in my daily life. The only thing that might put a lot of people off is the price. It's a really expensive phone, and you have to think carefully about whether you will actually make use of the folding design. If you will, I think the investment is worth it. After switching to the Fold8, regular phones seem unnecessarily small and, most importantly, less practical. Overall, I'm really happy with the phone. It offers a great display, high performance, quality build, and features you just won't find on a regular phone. If you're looking for something other than a standard slab and don't mind the higher price, I can recommend the Galaxy Z Fold8 with a clear conscience.
Large and beautiful inner display. Ideal dimensions compared to previous generations. Great multitasking. Fast performance without any lag. High-quality build and a sturdy hinge. Good cameras. All-day battery life. Excellently optimised system.
High purchase price. Charging could be faster. The screen fold is still visible in certain light. You need to get used to the thickness of the phone when folded.

Switching from the Fold 7 to the Galaxy Fold 8 is taking more getting used to than I expected. The phone has a different form factor and I still have to get used to holding it, especially when using the main display – sometimes I feel like it's going to fall out of my hand. Also, because of the thinner body, you can feel the speakers vibrating in your palm more during playback, which didn't happen to me with the Fold 7. However, it's brilliant for films and multitasking, and the battery easily lasts the whole day so far. Overall, though, I'm rather undecided. I had a better feeling about it at first and I'll see if I end up keeping it.

As a former owner of all previous Fold generations, I decided not to go for the top-spec model this time, but to opt for the new direction in the form of the Fold8. The new form factor is truly unique and absolutely brilliant for a folding device. The display dimensions force you to use the phone in a slightly different way to unlock its full potential. When you add in the lower weight and smaller size, you get a truly mobile (easily portable) device that you can easily slip into your pocket, but when unfolded, you essentially have a tablet. This is exactly where the folding design has the greatest potential. It's just a shame about the missing zoom camera; I will miss that a bit.
Unusual form factor
The fold in the display is barely noticeable
Great readability in sunlight
Super ergonomics
weaker photo equipment
magnet for wireless charging only in the case
No S Pen support

I'm absolutely thrilled with my new phone. It works quickly. The requested actions appear almost instantly. Multitasking is a great thing, it works brilliantly on the phone, I'll use it for streams and other activities. The picture, colours and photos look perfect. It's smaller and wider, and after getting used to it, it's easy to work with, feels nice in the hand and isn't slippery. It paired with the accessories well and intuitively. Altogether it works as a great package. I'm satisfied with the phone and would definitely recommend it.

After ten years, I've switched back to Android from iOS and I'm honestly surprised by how far the Android world has come in that time. In some respects, compared to iOS, I even feel like I've landed in a different century. The Gemini integration is something that continues to fascinate me. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is exactly the device I've been missing for a long time. It's not too small, nor is it unnecessarily large, and I finally find the format of the inner display to be absolutely ideal for everyday use. As long as you use the phone with both hands, you'll be happy. The challenge comes when you need to type one-handed. Unfortunately, the Samsung keyboard doesn't offer a simple gesture to shrink and move the keyboard to the left or right side, which for me is quite a significant drawback. I solved this by switching to Gboard, which does offer this option. The camera certainly isn't bad and the phone takes very decent photos. However, coming from an iPhone 15 Pro, I can't shake the feeling that I have to intervene more often to get the final result – for example, adjusting the exposure compensation to make the photo look the way I want. With the iPhone, I was more used to just pulling out the phone, taking a picture, and not having to worry about anything else. The speakers are the phone's weak point, in my opinion. When unfolded, the sound only comes from one half of the device, and even when folded, it's not exactly a breathtaking experience. I think Apple does this better. On the other hand, the flexible construction and the hinge feel very robust and you can tell a really solid piece of work has gone into them. The crease where the display folds is minimal. Immediately after unfolding, you can see and feel it for a short while, but after a few minutes, the display flattens out nicely and I practically stop noticing it during use. Given the phone's design, I'm naturally a little wary of dust and potential damage to the hinge, but so far it definitely doesn't feel flimsy or fragile. Of course, its actual long-term durability can only be judged after a longer period of use. Overall, the Fold 8 has very pleasantly surprised me. After ten years with iPhones, I expected that returning to Android would mainly involve a lot of getting used to things and making compromises. So far, I have more of the opposite feeling – I'm discovering features and possibilities that I've actually been missing on iOS for a long time.

A perfect foldable phone for me. When folded, it's compact and fits comfortably in my pocket, and when unfolded, it provides enough space for 2–3 windows for parallel work, or for comfortable reading/gaming. After my previous experience with the Flip5, I particularly appreciate the full-featured front display, so now I only open the phone when I really need to, not every single time I use it. Unfortunately, all of this is reflected in the price, but if you can come to terms with it, it's worth it.
The front display is perfectly sufficient for "standard" use of the phone.
Inner display for work/reading/gaming (tasks better suited for a tablet)
The option to set a different home screen for each display.
The construction feels sturdy enough, even with its low weight and thin profile.
Samsung interface without a lot of unnecessary fluff.
Fast, doesn't freeze (the expected standard in this price category)

I switched from an iPhone Air, and the multitasking on Android, and specifically on the Fold, is a huge plus. I use it as my personal and work device.
Better battery life compared to the previous model
Excellent aspect ratio, it’s so easy to hold and can be used with one hand.
Multitasking bestie
The openness of Android
Lots of settings and options to customise the phone.
I'd appreciate a better zoom on the camera
Some applications are poorly optimised.
I'm still getting used to the shape, although it's comfortable to hold.

I was a bit worried about the size when I switched to the Fold 8, but those concerns disappeared within the first week. It’s so lightweight I barely notice it in my pocket, and the outer display is finally wide enough for me to type quick messages one-handed without typos. But the main event happens when you unfold it. The inner screen is perfect for handling emails, editing documents on the go, and watching videos. The hinge and the crease in the middle are significantly less noticeable compared to older generations. The system runs incredibly smoothly even with three apps open at once. If you do a lot of work on your phone and can make use of the large screen, it's definitely a worthwhile investment.
The battery easily lasts a whole demanding workday.
Ergonomics when closed
Excellent display brightness in direct sunlight
Fast charging
High price for original accessories

I can handle most of the tasks for my job that I need to sort out on the go on the large display of the unfolded phone, so I don't have to boot up my laptop, which I hardly carry with me anymore. It's bigger than the Flip, but it still fits in my trouser pocket.
Large front display, meaning I can handle most operations with emails, WhatsApp and quick web previews without opening the phone.
Large storage space.
High performance, everything launches very quickly.
The price, however, corresponds to its utility value.
The original packaging/case only covers the back of the phone.
