Šéf SEC: bitcoin nie je investičný nástroj, ICO tokeny áno

Jay Clayton, šéf amerického finančného regulátora Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), v stredu v rozhovore pre CNBC vyjasnil pozíciu svojho úradu voči kryptomenám a tokenom. Predovšetkým zdôraznil, že úrad nebude upravovať svoje pravidlá týkajúce sa toho, čo posudzuje za investičný nástroj (securities).

„Kryptomeny slúžiace ako substitút štátnych mien – bitcoin namiesto dolára, eura, yenu; taký typ meny nie je pre nás investičným nástrojom,“ podotkol Clayton.

„Token čiže digitálne aktívum, kde vám dám peniaze a vy následne založíte podnik, z čoho mi následne plynú príjmy – to je investičný nástroj, ktorý my regulujeme. Regulujeme ponuku takého investičného nástroja, regulujeme aj obchod s ním.“
