GPS Module

A device that receives a GPS signal to determine and record a location. GPS modules can be found in car and motorcycle navigation systems, cyclocomputers, sporttesters and GPS locators.

How GPS Work

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a positioning system originally developed by the United States Department of Defence. In addition to the very precise object tracking, the GPS system is also able to determine altitude and motion speed using the principle of multilateration - which determines the distance of the GPS receiver (mobile phone, car navigation, etc.) from satellites orbiting the Earth.

i Another operating system that works with the same principle is known as GLONASS. The only difference from GPS is that it was developed by the Russian military, not the US Army. Many of the positioning devices use both systems and work very quickly and accurately.

GPS Usage

The GPS system is mainly used for car navigation, but it can also help find the closest restaurant, bar, public transport stop or even another person. Thanks to GPS, your fitness tracker can measure your performance and the distance to your destination. In case of emergencies, you can even share your location on social networks to let others know that you're okay.

The vast content of the Internet can thus more easily focus on you as an individual rather than the masses.
