Najnovší konektor štandardu USB nesie označenie typ-C. Na rozdiel od predchádzajúcich má odlišný tvar, vďaka ktorému ho možno zasúvať obojstranne, avšak na úkor spätnej kompatibility s portami USB 2.0 alebo USB 3.0/3.1. Rýchlosť prenosu dát dosahuje až 10 Gbit/s. Novým rozšírením je potom štandard USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, ktorý dvojnásobne navyšuje prenosovú rýchlosť, a to až na 20 Gbit/s.

The latest USB connector is marked with a "C". Unlike the previous ones, it has a different plug shape, but this is at the expense of backward compatibility with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 / 3.1 ports. The data transfer rate is up to 10 Gb.
