Altitude Hold

Altitude Hold is a function that allows a drone to automatically maintain a constant altitude without the need for continuous pilot intervention in throttle control. To determine its altitude, the drone most commonly uses a barometer, which is a sensor that measures atmospheric pressure. As altitude increases, pressure decreases, allowing the drone to adjust engine power based on the measured values to stay at the chosen flight level. For more precise measurements, especially at low altitudes, some models also use ultrasonic or optical sensors that detect the distance from the surface below the drone. Thanks to this function, the pilot does not have to focus on constantly correcting the vertical position and can fully concentrate on horizontal movement, i.e., flying forward, sideways, or rotating. This simplifies control and enables smoother video recording and photography.
