PoE type

Power over Ethernet (PoE) types, including passive and active PoE, describe how devices are powered over Ethernet. Passive PoE supplies power without device detection and requires voltage compatibility between the power supply and the device. Active PoE, which includes standards such as 802.3af and 802.3at, provides a safer and more flexible solution where power is only delivered when a compatible device is detected, minimizing the risk of damage.
