Sensor Size 1/1.9"

The 1/1.9-inch sensor size is a specification that describes the physical dimensions of the image chip in a camera. This chip is a key component that captures light and converts it into a digital image. The fractional designation, such as "1/1.9"", is a historical standard and does not directly correspond to the diagonal of the sensor in inches. An important rule is that the smaller the number in the denominator, i.e., the number after the slash, the larger the sensor itself. A 1/1.9-inch sensor is therefore larger than the more common 1/2.3-inch sensor, but smaller than a 1/1.7-inch sensor. A larger sensor area allows for the use of larger light-sensitive cells, known as pixels. These can capture more light, which has a positive effect on photo quality, especially in poorer lighting conditions. The result is a reduced amount of digital noise, which appears as graininess in the image, and a wider dynamic range. Dynamic range is the camera's ability to capture details simultaneously in very bright and dark parts of a scene.
