Vermicomposter

A vermicomposter is a container or system of containers designed for composting organic waste using earthworms. It usually consists of several tiers into which kitchen organic waste, such as fruit and vegetable scraps, is gradually placed. A special type of composting worms, most often the so-called “California worms,” consume this waste and convert it into high-quality organic fertilizer known as vermicompost. During the process, a liquid component, “worm tea,” is also produced, which collects in the bottom part of the container and serves as a concentrated liquid fertilizer. Thanks to its enclosed and compact design, this system is suitable for use in households without a garden, for example in apartments, on balconies, or in garages.
