The IP rating is an international standard that specifies the resistance of electronic devices against the ingress of foreign objects and liquids. The code consists of two digits, where the first indicates protection against solid particles and the second against water. The letter 'X' in the first position means that resistance to dust and other solid particles has not been tested. The digit '7' in the second position specifies a high level of water protection. Specifically, it guarantees that the device can withstand complete submersion in water at a depth of up to 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes. Headphones or a speaker with this rating can therefore be used without concern in the rain, in the shower, or rinsed under running water, and even an accidental fall into a pool will not damage them.
