Just a regular data/power cable, except you only need one single cable to charge most small electronics in the home. Old phone with micro-USB, new phone with USB-C, plugged into a charger with USB-A or USB-C port. The cable is just long enough, strong, braided and the ends are connected with a short rubber cord. I think the rubber band will be the first to go, but it probably won't affect functionality. Thanks to these elastic bands and Velcro, the cable can be ideally twisted and thus conveniently carried without tangling in the backpack. The end caps are with a small rubber transition, as we all probably know this is the most likely place to damage the cable. Here, however, there is no typical rubber transition to stop the bending in these places. The cable is likely to be destroyed quickly here.
