So far, it is too early for any evaluation of the quality of the product, but I still think that it is useful to write at least some information here, considering that some are missing in the product description. The box and manual have a somewhat misleading designation “VHF / UHF FM Transceiver“ when the transmitter actually operates only in the UHF band. It is “able“ theoretically to work on frequencies from 400 to 470 MHz and I put it in quotes because without a data cable (which is not included, but can be purchased separately), the user is dependent only on preset frequencies. On the other hand, this may not bother very ordinary people (those without a license). Because all 9 so-called “shared frequencies“ in the UHF band, which can be used legally in our country (in the Czech Republic) without a license. Namely: Channel 1,448.490 MHz (5W) Channel 2,448.570 MHz (5W) Channel 3,448.610 MHz (5W) Channel 4,449.770 MHz (1W) Channel 5,449.810 MHz (1W) Channel 6,442,200 MHz (5W) Channel 7,442.225 MHz (5W) Channel 8 442.250 MHz (5W) Channel 9 442.275 MHz (5W) There is nothing on channels 10 to 16 (when switching to them you will only hear a whistle, probably as an indication that there is nothing on them). Odd channels are marked with a tiny number, even a dot, so you can visually check which channel you are on. At the same time, by default, when you switch to a channel, the voice (in English) will tell you which of the 16 channels it is. (Via the groundbreaking combination of a certain channel and buttons, the voice announcing the channels can be turned on / off. ) If you want to set up the remaining 7 channels, you need the already mentioned cable, computer and some software. Personally preset frequencies are enough for me. I have stated in parentheses for the frequencies what the maximum power is allowed in the Czech Republic for those individual frequencies, but I do not currently know whether they are also set for the given power. The radio can handle a maximum transmission power of 5W, so in at least 6 cases it certainly does not exceed it and should be able to reach it. As for the controls, it is very simple, which does not have to be to the detriment, because everyone can master the basic controls in a minute. A small white LED light may also come in handy. And the color indication of the incoming signal (green) or that you have activated transmission (red) is also useful. Some functions, even if they are switched on / off by the radio controls, require that they be switched on via a computer first. Some advanced ones can then only be set up via a computer (and therefore via a cable that is not included in the package). Personally, all I know about those advanced things is probably just scanning the channels, which must first be set up via a computer before the controls can be turned on. But with 9 channels, you can certainly live without it, even if it is appropriate at times. So far I give 3 stars. 1st star down for scanning, which first requires activation via a computer and that I don' t have a cable for that yet. 2nd star down for not using the radio (except for frequency detection) yet and I can' t give a higher rating to an untested product. However, I leave 3 stars, due to the potential that this radio has and that it is preset to all legally unlicensed usable frequencies.
All 9 frequencies allowed in our country in UHF
There is power in simplicity
LED light
Lightweight
Most advanced features are only available via PC (and cable sold separately)
The scan function requires that it be set up via a computer first
