When connected to USB-A in my car (Mondeo 2019), my iPhone XS and iPad air2 kept connecting and disconnecting me at about second intervals. (Both USB I have there) the phone didn' t charge or connect to Apple Car Play. Charging well through the inserted adapter into the lighter. Samsung (plugged into USB-C) charged just fine. I' m only lucky to charge my passengers and I' ll use an adapter if necessary. I use a simple Alza Power cable to pair my iPhone.
When removing from the USB-A in the car, it is necessary to grab the fingers up to the terminal, otherwise only the USB-c will be removed and the terminal (adapter to the USB-a) will remain in the plug.
