The holder itself is one of the best for me. I have tried a lot of them (Fixed, Swissten, AlzaPower,. )
The holder is compact and does not get in the way.
The workmanship is precise, it can even be attached to places other than the grid - anywhere where you can hook a hook (in my case, behind the cup holder next to the CD drive). The hook can be pulled and rotated, so the variability is really great.

For non-Apple:
Glue the Mag Safe magnetic ring e.g. I didn't consider Fixed a happy solution. For one thing, it's sticky and then you always have something extra on your phone. And you can't put it under the phone cover.
BUT there is another solution - the MagSafe magnet can be easily replaced. In my case I replaced it from the Swissten M5-HK holder. Simply mount a Swissten magnet (or other) instead of the Mag Safe magnet. The clamping joint is the same.
As far as magnets are concerned - Swissten holds the best, AlzaPower less, Fixed ICON Vent even less, and Fixed Maggy XL even less.
