Our old dryer went to the scrap heap after 13 years, so it was time to get a new one. We finally decided to choose Electrolux again, specifically the EW7D485UCC type. Since we still had a well preserved and well working spacer (E4YHMKP3), I asked Electrolux if we could use this old one. The answer was yes, it was said to be usable with all 60 cm deep AEG and Electrolux dryer models, so I didn't look into it further. The surprise came a few days later, they delivered a new dryer and when we tried to mount it on the existing spacer we found out that the spacing of the front and rear legs on the new one is about 46 cm (the old spacer counted with about 42-43 cm). So the commissioning of our new dryer took an extra day before I brought a new spacer from Alza.

The new intermediate model for AEG/Electrolux washing machines and dryers allows different positions for the rear footrests - better compatibility across models.

According to my experience with the old spacer, which honestly served until the end of the dryer's life (13 years) and looking at the design of the new one (mechanically identical), I can predict that it will be unstretchable again.

The product photo does not correspond to the real spacer - this new type does not have the rear foot rests fixed as part of the spacer moulding, but the rests are mounted in pre-prepared positions according to the required spacing of the installed dryer.
