It is a solid and well forged (welded) piece of iron.
The reduction is welded all the way around
The fact that the reduction is cooked all the way around outweighs the minuses.
Price
Weld quality.
The circumference is not 100% cylindrical. Deformed probably by transport, or the technological process wants to improve.
Fitting to the counterbore is problematic due to the uneven geometry of the cylinder.
It's not hydroforming, the picture doesn't match, it's welded from 3 pieces
It needs a better jig to ensure tolerance of roundness on the large circumference, or use a liner to prevent deformation during transport/storage. Which of course will increase the price of the product, but at least it will save the customer's nerves.
